Africa — Kumba Blood of Kumba Town made a winning start to the Kumba I Council Inter-Quarter Football Championship, defeating Young Strikers of Mbonge Road 1-0 in a thrilling and fiercely contested opening match at the GPS Field. The decisive moment came in the dying minutes of the game, after additional time had been awarded. Obase Cyril found the back of the net with a clinical finish to secure all three points for Kumba Blood. His historic strike not only sealed victory for his side but also made him the first goalscorer of this year's tournament.
The goal scorer received a special prize as the competition's first scorer.
