African Women's Leadership Celebrated Through Target Peace Global Fellowship
Limbe, Cameroon — Virtual forum to honour resilience, innovation, and the achievements of women driving change.
Excellent, Smart & Supportive Woman" initiative recognizes women shattering barriers across Africa.
Women leaders, entrepreneurs, journalists, advocates, and community development champions from across Africa and the diaspora will gather virtually on Friday, July 31, 2026, for a global fellowship celebrating women whose contributions are transforming lives and communities.
The event is organized by Target Peace, founded by Amy Banda, in collaboration with She Thrives Global, led by Ambassador Edith Abumbi, as part of activities commemorating the 64th African Woman Fellowship Day. Held under the theme "African Women and the Water Future," the program will feature Phase Two of "The Excellent, Smart & Supportive Woman – Give to Gain." The hybrid event, combining online and onsite participation, aims to showcase women who have turned adversity into opportunity while fostering collaboration, solidarity, and mutual empowerment.
According to the organizers, the fellowship will provide an opportunity to reflect on the remarkable journeys of African women who continue to make significant contributions in leadership, entrepreneurship, education, healthcare, governance, and community development.
"She nurtures the harvest. She moves mountains," organizers said, describing the gathering as a celebration of women whose dedication continues to inspire meaningful change across generations.
The fellowship will bring together an impressive lineup of speakers, including community leaders, policymakers, entrepreneurs, faith leaders, and professionals from diverse sectors.
Expected participants include Queen Clarisse Douala Bell, Yaah Gladys Shang Viban, founder of Wewe Network Afrique, Adaora Onyechere Sydney-Jack, Zimbabwean humanitarian Lumbie Mlambo, and Dr. Karen Bruges, Global Chair of the Zero Hunger Mission.
Additional speakers representing journalism, healthcare, politics, business, mental health, culture, and advocacy will also share their experiences, reflecting the organisers' commitment to celebrating women's achievements across various fields.
The event will further promote the "Action Woman" initiative, which honours women making outstanding contributions to society while encouraging the public to nominate changemakers within their communities. Through Target Peace, Amy Banda has continued to champion conversations on women's empowerment, leadership, and social transformation by creating platforms that amplify women's voices and achievements. The fellowship will be held via Google Meet at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, July 31, 2026, as part of activities concluding the month-long celebration.
Organizers say the event will offer participants valuable opportunities for networking, inspiration, and renewed commitment to strengthening support systems for women across Africa and the wider global community.
