Tiko Council Municipal Police receive training on Inclusive Approach to Combat Violence Against Women and Girls

Africa — Elements of the Tiko Council Municipal Police have taken part in a oneday capacity building workshop on an inclusive approach to prevent and combat Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) in the context of conflict in Cameroon. The workshop was organized by the Social Affairs Commission of the Cameroon Bar Association and held on Friday, July 17, 2026 at the SOCADEL Branch Office, Mutengene, Tiko Sub-division It was the first in a series of three workshops nationwide, targeting Municipal Police, Judicial Police, and Labour and Social Affairs Officers from the South West Region. The session aimed at Strengthening participants’ capacity to identify, investigate, and prosecute cases of violence against women and girls and to encourage better follow-up on social protection*l mechanisms for survivors. The training is part of ongoing efforts to equip local security and social actors with the tools needed to protect vulnerable populations in conflict affected areas of Cameroon.
