Kumba, Cameroon — Kumba-based philanthropist Neba Elvis Ngwa has once again demonstrated his commitment to education by donating school supplies to over 700 children in Kumba, Meme Division. The donation exercise took place on Friday, September 11, 2026, as part of his efforts to support children as they begin the 2026/2027 academic year.
The items donated included books, pens, pencils, erasers and rulers, aimed at helping pupils and students prepare for the new school year.
Promoting Education and Academic Excellence.
According to the philanthropist, the initiative is driven by his vision to promote academic excellence, with education serving as a solid foundation for economic growth and development.
Yes, I love to support education because education is your foundation. Education is the key to success. I remember back in those days, our parents always told us that, going to school is very important because you are the future of tomorrow. I love the children to go to school because they are the future of tomorrow.
Through the gesture, Neba Elvis Ngwa is helping to ease the burden on families and encourage children to pursue their education, especially in a society hard hit by the nearly decade-long armed conflict in Cameroon’s Northwest and Southwest Regions.
The conflict has disrupted education and placed additional financial pressure on many families, making support initiatives such as this particularly important.
Remember some years in South Africa, children didn’t go to school because of a little crisis that they had during the time of apartheid. And today we have a uneducated people in South Africa that has even been causing problems like xenophobia, shouting they are "taking our jobs" So we don’t want our Cameroon to be like that. We want our Cameroon to be better in the future.
Parents and Children Appreciate Gesture.
School children and their parents who received the items expressed appreciation for the gesture, noting that it is not the first time Neba Elvis Ngwa, fondly referred to as Pa Ngwa, has come to their aid.
The philanthropist, who is also proprietor of Losa Beauty Complex, has continued to support education and community development, emphasizing the importance of investing in the younger generation.
As the 2026/2027 academic year unfolds, initiatives of this nature are expected to encourage school attendance, support families and inspire children to strive for academic excellence.
Neba Elvis Ngwa is also a sports promoter.
Apart from promoting education, Kumba-based philanthropist Neba Elvis Ngwa is also a passionate promoter of football and entertainment. He has been supporting local football and music, providing platforms for talents in Kumba and beyond. Through his various initiatives, he continues to contribute to the development of young people and the entertainment industry.
