7th African Excellence Awards Set for December in Gabon as CEMAC Mobilisation Tour Kicks Off in Douala
The awards will celebrate African excellence in business, governance, media, culture and social impact under the theme “Africa, a continent of the future and of opportunities for humanity.” The tour will continue across the CEMAC region ahead of the grand finale, dubbed the “grand ball of African geniuses.”

Douala, Cameroon — The 7th Edition of the African Excellence Awards is scheduled for December 2026 in Gabon, with 17 countries across the continent confirmed to participate.
Ahead of the event, the international organizing committee of the TAKAD awards announces the launch of its official preparatory mission in Douala from August 19 to 26, 2026. A high-powered delegation from Gabon and Côte d’Ivoire is expected in Douala.
Ahead of the ceremony, organizers have launched a CEMAC Tour to mobilize stakeholders and build momentum. The tour kicks off in Douala with the arrival of a high-powered delegation from Gabon and Côte d’Ivoire.
The event is holding under the Theme: “Africa, a continent of the future and of opportunities for humanity” and the Slogan: “TAKAD AWARDS 7th Edition, the grand ball of African geniuses”.
This 7th edition aims to celebrate the excellence, creativity, and impact of the sons and daughters of Africa who are shining on the continent and around the world.
The Douala leg will feature an official Meet and Greet session to be moderated by Senior CRTV Reporter Amy Banda, winner of BEST TV Presenter of the Year at the previous edition.
According to organizers, the event will bring together pan-African speakers who will evaluate and salute African Excellence. It will also serve as a networking platform where business operators will connect and strategize on key steps ahead of the main event in Gabon.
The President of the Organising Committee, Hercule Nse Souala, and Vice President Lassane Oulare, are expected in Cameroon.
The two leaders say the visit is aimed at tying solid contacts with Africans willing to celebrate African Excellence and to strengthen partnerships within the CEMAC region.
Speaking ahead of the tour, the committee noted that the 7th edition seeks to be the most inclusive yet, highlighting excellence in business, governance, media, culture, and social impact.
The CEMAC Tour is expected to continue to other cities in the sub-region before the December grand finale in Libreville, Gabon.
