Kumba, Cameroon — Residents and traders at Fiango Market and surrounding communities in Kumba II Sub-Division are celebrating the provision of a borehole aimed at easing persistent water shortages in the area.
The intervention was made by the Member of Parliament for the Kumba Urban Constituency, Hon. Tabot Lawson Bakia, following repeated complaints from residents and traders over inconsistent water supply from CAMWATER.
For the market community, access to the new water point is expected to provide much-needed relief to traders, residents and other users who have faced difficulties obtaining water for their daily activities.
The beneficiaries have expressed appreciation to the lawmaker for responding to their concerns and providing an immediate intervention to help address the situation.
The water crisis has reportedly affected activities around Fiango Market and neighbouring areas, where residents have had to cope with unreliable access to potable water.
Hon. Tabot Lawson Bakia has also promised to do more to address the needs of the population, signalling further interventions in the constituency.
The borehole comes as communities continue to look for sustainable solutions to water supply challenges, particularly in areas where public water services remain inconsistent.
Pinnacle Times learnt that residents hope the intervention will provide lasting relief while efforts continue to improve the regularity of CAMWATER supply in Fiango and its surrounding communities.
