HON. TABOT LAWSON BAKIA CALLS FOR DIALOGUE AND UNITY IN INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PEACE ADDRESS

Kumba Urban MP Hon. Tabot Lawson Bakia has called for reconciliation, community solidarity and economic empowerment in Kumba, Meme Division and Cameroon as the country commemorates the International Day of Peace. He urged citizens to choose dialogue over division and development over destruction, stressing that economic empowerment is essential to lasting peace.

Cameroon — On the occasion of the International Day of Peace, Hon. Tabot Lawson Bakia, Member of Parliament for the Kumba Urban Constituency, issued a powerful message calling for reconciliation, community solidarity, and economic empowerment across the kumba, Southwest region and Cameroon as a whole.

​Addressing the people of Kumba, Meme Division, and the wider nation, the lawmaker stressed the imperative of choosing peaceful pathways over conflict to secure a prosperous future for the country.

"Kumba has known pain. Let us choose dialogue over division, unity over hate, and development over destruction," Hon. Tabot Lawson Bakia declared in his address.

A Call for Community Solidarity

​In his commemorative message, the MP emphasized that lasting peace begins at the interpersonal and grassroots levels. He extended warm wishes of love and unity across all levels of society, urging constituents to foster harmonious relationships within their immediate surroundings.

His appeal called on citizens to pursue: ​ Peace with neighbors to build trust across local communities.

​Peace with friends and families to strengthen social safety nets and communal bonds.

​Peace within diverse communities to ensure long-term stability and social cohesion.

Linking Peace to Development and Empowerment.

​Highlighting the deep relationship between socioeconomic stability and community peace, Hon. Tabot Lawson Bakia Bakia emphasized that lasting tranquility cannot exist without addressing basic economic needs.

Invoking the traditional adage, "A hungry man is an angry man," the Parliamentarian underscored that sustainable peace requires active empowerment and livelihood support for the population.

"When we empower each other, we build peace,"

Hon Tabot Lawson Bakia noted, connecting local economic development directly to national stability.

​He concluded his peace address with a blessing for the constituency and the nation:
