Kumba City Mayor Hands Over Solar Street Lights to Ikiliwindi Residents

KUMBA, CAMEROONKumba Cameroon—The city Mayor of Kumba, Greg Mewanu, has handed over solar street lights to the people of Ikiliwindi, following a promise made during a recent visit to the above mentioned area. The symbolic handover took place on Friday, July 24, 2026, at his office.

Receiving the equipment, representatives of the Ikiliwindi community expressed their gratitude to the City Mayor, describing the gesture as a timely intervention that will positively impact the lives of the population. They noted that the solar street lights will help improve visibility at night, enhance security and create a safer environment for residents.

The visit also provided an opportunity for the City Mayor and the community delegation to discuss issues related to decentralization and community development, with focus on strengthening collaboration between the Kumba City Council and the Ikiliwindi community.

The engagement ended on a positive note, with both parties expressing commitment to continue working together for initiatives that improve the wellbeing of the people of Ikiliwindi, a community in Konye Subdivision of Meme Division, South West Region of Cameroon.
