USDP Roars Back in Fako, Intensifies Mobilisation Ahead of 2027 Municipal Elections

USDP officials say they are certain to recored a landslide victory durung the upcoming municipal and parliamentary elections in Fako-Division. Apart from Fako, they claim that the party will win councils in Meme Division.

Party officials in a strategic meeting, it was revealed that some key figures in the SDF and CPDM have manifested interest to join the party.

Fako, DivisionThe United Socialist Democratic Party (USDP) has intensified its preparations for the upcoming legislative and municipal elections, with party officials in Fako Division calling for increased mobilisation, grassroots recruitment and internal reorganisation.

The call was made during a high-level consultation meeting held in Buea on Monday, August 10, 2026, bringing together members of the party’s Section Committee, potential aspirants, party officials from the seven subsections in Fako, as well as delegates from other divisions.

The meeting was chaired by the USDP Regional Coordinator, Njie Molua Peter-Paul, who urged delegates and divisional party leaders to step up efforts to strengthen the party’s presence at the grassroots.

Njie Molua also called for greater mobilisation and internal reorganisation, while encouraging party officials to intensify the recruitment of new members ahead of the elections.

On his part, Mosoke Lyonga Lucas, President of the USDP Section, called on party officials in Buea and across Fako Division to intensify door-to-door mobilisation.

He further stressed the importance of encouraging eligible Cameroonians to register on the electoral roll ahead of the registration deadline, which the party identified as August 31, 2026.

The meeting forms part of the USDP’s broader efforts to strengthen its structures and prepare its members and potential candidates for the forthcoming legislative and municipal polls in Fako Division and the wider South West Region.

The party also reveals Projections as per the people's response in the upcoming local elections in Meme Division and beyond.
