Kumba, CameroonCameoon-The Minister of Secondary Education has signed three Ministerial Orders authorizing the closure of 105 illegal private secondary schools across Cameroon ahead of the 2026/2027 academic year.

According to a press release issued on July 20, 2026, the affected schools failed to comply with the legal procedures required for the creation, opening, and extension of private secondary institutions.

The Ministry is urging parents and guardians to remain vigilant and ensure they enroll their children only in schools that have been officially authorized by the Ministry of Secondary Education.
