Nwa Sub-Division, Donga/Mantung DivisionThe Member of Parliament for the Donga-Mantung East Constituency, Hon. Adamu Edward Lambe, has carried the long-standing concerns of his people to the floor of the National Assembly, passionately calling on the Government to urgently tar the Ndu–Nwa–Yang Road and provide state sponsorship for the annual Mt Majang Race. Addressing Ministers during the just-ended June Session of the National Assembly, the MP first acknowledged the Government's efforts in constructing the Donga-Mantung Ring Road before drawing attention to what he described as another strategic road that deserves immediate intervention.

"Mr. Ministers, thank you all for giving the people of Donga-Mantung the Ring Road, but what are you thinking about the Ndu–Nwa–Yang Road? The Government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria has already tarred its section up to our common border. If Cameroon also tars its stretch of the road, it will greatly benefit my people, who are predominantly farmers and continue to struggle to transport their produce to the markets because of the poor state of the road," Hon. Lambe appealed. The legislator also seized the opportunity to advocate for the Mt Majang Race, a sporting event that has become a source of pride for the people of Nwa Sub Division. "Mr. Ministers, I proudly come from a mountainous area where the Mt Majang Race is organised every year. Last year, athletes who later represented our area at the Mt Cameroon Race of Hope returned home with 12 trophies and 13 medals. I therefore plead with the State to sponsor this race for the benefit of our Younger ones who are athletic and the entire community," he added.

Hon. Lambe's intervention comes at a time when the two major aspirations repeatedly expressed by the people of Nwa Sub Division are the tarring of the Ndu–Nwa–Yang Road and Government sponsorship of the Mt Majang Race. These demands have continued to gain momentum in recent months. In March 2026, a video of journalist Jeremi Romi kneeling and passionately pleading with the Government to tar the Ndu–Nwa–Yang Road went viral across social media platforms and television channels. During the 2026 Mt Majang Race and the Cultural Festival in Mbem Village, Jeremi Romi also documented the voices of residents, many of whom appealed for Government support to sponsor the race and finally construct the long-awaited road.

With the people's plea now echoed on the floor of the National Assembly by their elected representative, many are hopeful that the Government will give serious consideration to these longstanding development priorities. Will the Government finally answer the cry of the people of Nwa Sub Division? For now, the people can only keep their fingers crossed as they await what they hope will be good news.
