KUMBA URBAN MP HON. TABOT LAWSON GETS STANDING OVATION FOR CHAMPIONING ROAD REHABILITATION

The rehabilitation is personal gesture, with vision to make streets in Kumba to become more accessible

AfricaKUMBA– Residents of CCAS Kumba neighbourhoodin Kumba III Sub-Division have hailed the Member of Parliament for Kumba Urban Constituency, Hon. Tabot Lawson Bakia popularly known as Njalla for rehabilitating their long-neglected road.

The stretch, which had become completely inaccessible due to mud and potholes, was graded on Tuesday, July 22, 2026, following complaints from the population.

Hon. Tabot Lawson, who also serves as Section President of the CPDM Meme IA, mobilized machines to carry out the grading after hearing the cries of residents.

Before the intervention, students and teachers of CCAS, CETIC, and GBHS Kumba were struggling to access their campuses. Business operators also complained that the deplorable state of the road was slowing down commercial activities.

The Quarter Head of CCAS Kumba appreciated the MP’s gesture, saying it should be emulated by other elected officials.

Speaking after the exercise, Hon. Njalla said the rehabilitation of streets in Kumba Urban is financed from his personal funds. He reiterated his “talk and do” philosophy, stating that his focus remains ensuring that the population is well served, and promised to do more for the people of Kumba.
